Bird Migration Vacation

Two unique spring date ranges to kick off your
summer adventures!

We are pleased to announce a fully guided and inclusive birding package. Stay in one of our lakeside cabins and enjoy the spring bird migration of the Superior National Forest. Our naturalist will host guided outings as well as presentations. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner in Justine’s are included with your stay for lake views in the morning and fireside evening entrees.

April 25th – 28th, 2022

Join our naturalist on two off site adventures! Your first day, hike through past wild fire burn areas on the Magnetic Rock Trail to spot unique birds of this area. On your second day, hike the Kekekabic Trail skirting the edge of small ponds and lakes to scout for waterfowl.

May 23rd – 26th, 2022

Hit the water for a paddling excursion each day. Our naturalist will lead you across Gunflint Lake to learn about our national bird, the Bald Eagle, one day and our Minnesota state bird, the Common Loon, the next. Both species call Gunflint Lake home!

Ravens and their Relatives Presentation

Come learn about one of the smartest of all birds, the northern raven.  We will also learn about some of the raven’s relatives, including: the American crow, Canada jay, and blue jay.

Bird Migration Hike

Birding during migration is very exciting because you never know what you are going to see.  Some birds are migrating from the Gunflint Trail, others are migrating to it, and there are also avifauna that are just coming through this beautiful region.  Come see some amazing birds and learn about one of the greatest adventures on Earth.

Boreal Birding Hike
