We offer three basic types of accomodations: Classic Cabins, Gunflint Lake Homes, and Romantic Cottages, plus the Pow Wow Lodge. Our approach to setting our cabin prices is somewhat different than other resorts in that we include many of your vacation activities in our base rate.
Our rates include your accommodations, all with a rock fireplace and many with a private sauna and hot tub. Nearly all have a complete kitchen, and many have a washer and dryer. Your firewood is stacked up in your entry way and your first fire is laid waiting for your match. All linens and bedding is provided with oversized towels, etc. Each cabin has either a charcoal or gas grill outside. Our cabins vary in size from one to four bedrooms and nearly all have a full bathroom for each bedroom. Housekeepers stop by every day to change your towels and to check on any needs you might have. They also check the firewood supply.
All our naturalist activities are included. Two naturalist/guides lead 30+ activities each week that range from nature hikes, to short canoe trips, to animal searches in the evening, to kids fishing fun, to wolf howling, etc. (One naturalist in the winter) We have a 20' Voyageur Canoe for some fun group paddles with one of our guides. All these activities vary by the week and season depending on what is happening in the forest.
Canoes and kayaks are included anytime you wish to use them. During the swimming season we also have tubes for the kids. We have several scenic hiking trails that lead right out of our back yard to take you to Lonely Lake, the scenic overlook or the high cliffs--these are all hiking trails we maintain for our guests. All fish filleting and freezing is included without charge.
At the main lodge you are always welcome to free coffee, tea or hot chocolate anytime you wish. In addition we try to keep a full jar of home baked cookies for you. The lodge also has free wi fi if you just have to check in with the big world. In the entry way of the lodge there are two big bins of corn and sunflower seeds--guests are expected to feed the ducks at the waterfront and keep their cabin bird feeders filled. In the winter months guests feed corn to the deer. The lodge has a decent inventory of DVDs and CDs and they are all free to use.

Thank you very much for all the helpful information you provided. Based on our communication I made the reservation and spent 3 fantastic days at the cabin this week plus I made future reservation for my friend. I am very happy with every aspect of my stay: it was absolutely what I was looking for! The amenities were excellent, the service was superb and genuinely friendly, the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable....and thank you for the packed and tracked ski trails, Bruce :) I will come back at the end of January and definitely more after that
Thank you and have a fantastic day!
