These weekends are all about our Native American heritage. John, our head
naturalist, will have a variety of activities about the Chippewa people who were here
when the white explorers first arrived. He will have talks in our new Teepee, there
will be a noon meal cook up, and he will demonstrate how the trapping and snaring
was done, as people lived off the land in the winter months.
He will take you on a hike to show you the useful materials in the forest that
are part of what we all use for winter survival, if we are stuck out in the woods
unexpectedly. He will also identify various animal and bird tracks in the woods.
Includes: 2 nights accommodations in a lakeside fireplace cabin, all meals, skis and
snowshoes, and all the nature activities. Ski passes and taxes are additional. |
