This first weekend of the summer season is dedicated to
helping our community recover from the Ham Lake fire of
May 2007. In the last two spring events nearly 800 volunteers
planted 75,000 trees. This spring we will be doing releases
around these young trees, which means we will be cutting
back the growth around them to give them sunlight. We all
gather for a fun Friday evening dinner in a huge tent, get our
instructions, and meet our team leaders. On Saturday we all
become ‘stewards of the land’ and head out for several hours
helping this conservation project, so those coming behind us
will see a vibrant growing forest in the coming years.
Includes: Accommodations, breakfasts and your team leaders
for Saturday’s project.
Note: To finish your registration for this event you will need
to go to www.gunflintgreenup.com and register for the rest
of the weekend package, which includes Friday and Saturday
dinners, lunch Saturday, and the coordination of the entire
event.
