Here’s a great way to add a new dimension to your book discussion group. We select a
list of books (mostly fiction, and a couple of good mysteries) that feature Northwoods and
Minnesota authors and illustrators. Afternoon presentations (in various formats – these
can be readings, presentations, or panels) feature the authors who will be joining us for the
weekend. We co-sponsor this special weekend with our friends Joci Tilsen, Jim Bour, and Lisa Wagner.
Joci and Jim are the past owners of the Valley Bookseller in Stillwater, Minnesota. Lisa is a long time literary friend and initially introduced Joci and Jim to Gunflint.

(Note: I formerly chose a Tim O'Brien book, which would make for a fascinating discussion; however, as I re-read evaluations from last year, people seemed to want books that were "less dark." While the O'Brien book is amazing, it is both dark and disturbing. Forgive me for the last-minute change. I will be happy to discuss "In the Lake of the Woods," however, with anyone who chooses to read it.)
